I bought a set of golf clubs and needed a diagram
Bought a Callaway Edge at Costco last week. Ten clubs, no bag. I didn’t know what a hybrid was, so I made a loft diagram. Irons step about 4°. PW to SW is about 12°. That’s the hole. Next money is a bag and some lessons, not more clubs.
The Costco box
I read the listing instead of guessing. Ten clubs, three headcovers, and the word “bag” does not appear anywhere on the page — reviews included. The putter is an Odyssey White Hot Pro. Reviews say it sells for well over $150 on its own. No 3-, 4- or 5-iron. Callaway put a 5-hybrid in their place.
The Rules of Golf cap you at fourteen. I didn’t know there was a cap. Ten of fourteen sounded like pieces missing. Extra clubs in year one add decisions. The other four can wait.

Driver is 10.5° and 3-wood is 15° — Callaway’s published specs. Iron and wedge lofts I couldn’t source authoritatively, so they’re marked ≈: 5-hybrid ≈24°, then 6i–9i in four-degree steps (≈26, 30, 34, 38), pitching wedge ≈43°, sand wedge ≈55°. That last step is about 12°. In yards that’s a hole somewhere between 100 and 70. The club that fills it is a gap wedge.
About $110 of extras that actually belong: a stand bag ($70–150), used balls ($25–35 — you lose four to eight a round at first), tees ($7), divot tool / towel / sunscreen (~$20). Skip the rangefinder. Skip more clubs.
Diagrams are on /pages/golf/. Now I have to go hit some of them.
